Bush kinder information
In Term 2, 3 & 4, we plan to have our Pre-School sessions at Gresswell Reserve, Greenwood Drive, Bundoora, on each Wednesday of the term.
The aim of the excursion is for your child to experience play in a natural environment, using what nature has provided as learning materials. Children will be supported as they take the risks, and face the challenges, essential to well-rounded learning. The opportunity is to explore different areas of Gresswell Reserve using only what nature has provided and also developing a respect for nature. We do not take any discoveries out of the reserve as we are visitors to this space. We can observe, explore, investigate, discover and question.

The experience
The Gresswell Experience allows children the freedom to be children, including:

Discovery
Outdoor learning spaces offer a vast array of possibilities not available indoors. These spaces invite open-ended interactions, spontaneity, risk taking, exploration, discovery and connection with nature (EYLF).

If the weather is not suitable on the day (high winds, stormy etc) families will be contacted and the session will be held at the kindergarten.
Our bush experience operates from Gresswell Reserve and is also strongly influenced by Indigenous Australian understandings of the environment and landscape.
